Dr. Macy has been the Executive Director of the agency since it's inception in 1990. He is supported by a visionary Board of Directors and a talented and creative staff at all levels of the organization.
Dr. Macy is an active participant in many statewide and national organizations including the Arc movement. He is past Chair of the CT. Conference of Executives of the Arc. He was recently asked to co-chair the Arc US Board Chapter Excellence Committee where he works with leaders across the country to create training programs for both Arc Board members and agency leadership staff. He is also a long standing member of the American Association of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilties. This is the oldest international organization of professionals in the disabilities field. He was recently re-elected chair of the Region X Chapter of the AAIDD and is a Fellow of the organization.
On the State level, Dr. Macy has been the President of the Board of the Connecticut Association of Nonprofits for 4 years. He is currently a Board member and Chair of it's Public Policy Committee.
